My name is Miosotis, most people call me Mio. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where I grew up watching my mother work as a cosmetologist and makeup artist for the little time she had the opportunity to be so. Beauty, in my home, was never superficial. It was discipline, skill, and artistry.
I am a hairstylist and an award-winning makeup artist with over 20 years of experience. What began as a childhood dream evolved into a lifelong commitment to mastering my craft. The technical precision behind hair color, customized haircutting, and editorial-level makeup continues to drive me. But beyond technique, what fuels me most is transformation the quiet confidence that happens when someone truly feels seen and elevated.
Throughout my career, I have worked across the United States and Puerto Rico alongside highly respected artists who helped shape my standards. I have trained with leading educators including Ashlee Norman, Larisa Love, Lisa Hernandez, Tonya Pushkareva, Vladimir Sarbashev, Danessa Myricks, Einat Dan, Gianni Sumaci, Joel Torres, and others. I currently travel as part of the Ashlee Norman Hair Team, serving as both a HMUA and co-facilitator educator.
I consistently invest in advanced education to refine my precision. My training has taken me internationally to deepen my editorial makeup expertise and further develop structured, customized haircutting methodologies rooted in technical excellence. Continuous growth is not optional in my career it is part of my professional standard.
As a hairstylist, I specialize in dimensional color and highly customized haircuts. No two heads are approached the same. Every formula is intentional. Every cut is built for the individual sitting in my chair.
As a makeup artist, my philosophy is enhancement over alteration. I focus on polished, refined looks that elevate natural beauty while maintaining structure and balance. When I step into editorial work, my creativity expands conceptualizing, designing, and often photographing the final image myself to ensure the vision is fully realized.
I am bilingual, detail-oriented, and deeply committed to excellence. Clients describe me as honest, attentive, disciplined, and creative. I listen carefully, execute precisely, and approach every service with purpose.
